Dear Readers,
First of all, I want to thank every one of you for your subscription and your attention. I started Dispatches From Bohemian Splendor a little over a year ago now, and have been steadily watching the newsletter grow and blossom into, at least for me, more than just a newsletter. I have been moved by the amount of responses and encouragement I receive from friends, fellow writers, and those who simply enjoy the words that I write, the ideas and emotions I try to convey.
Also, among my readers is a “silent majority”—I am referring to those of you who read nearly every one of my pieces, but don’t necessarily leave comments or reach out. And this matters little, as long as you enjoy my work enough to return to it. I am grateful for your readership, particularly in a time where there are so many other talented writers, thoughtful minds, intriguing topics, and yes, so much noise to compete with.
I started this newsletter as a writer, mainly focusing on autobiographical essays as a form of understanding my life, my pathway as an artist. I soon learned I had much more to say and discovered the many ways I could use this platform, this newsletter, as an extension of myself as an artist, as a writer, and wild expressionist.
Among these themes are Travel Sketches, Ekphratic essays, poems, and a series titled No Words, which are visual essays focusing on my paintings, photographs, and projects past, present and future. Of course, I have many works outside any thematic structure—like One Surreal Morning.
As you may be aware, Dispatches From Bohemian Splendor is entirely reader supported. In this way, I want to forge connections with my readers as deep and personal as possible. To continue to do this, I must ask my most perennial readers to consider some level of financial support. To encourage this, I am offering yearly subscriptions at a discounted rate. This means you can enjoy my various pieces at a one-time yearly plan, with the full knowledge that you are supporting a full-time, human artist and writer. You may also consider becoming a monthly subscriber, if a one-year commitment feels too much.
If this is impossible at the moment, believe me, I understand. If you want to support but cannot become a paid subscriber, please consider a small donation, sharing this newsletter with others, or if you have not already, engage with a piece that you enjoy by simply leaving a comment. This is free and encourages others to do so, which helps the newsletter grow as well. I am always eager to hear from any reader of mine, truly. Reach out in whatever way you feel fit, if you are inclined to do so.
To those who have already undertaken a paid subscription, know your support is impossible to overrate, and that you were among the first to see some value in my work, and for that, I am forever grateful.
Thank you for your attention and support.
With Gratitude,
Judson Stacy Vereen
