Ironically my Art Movement Tuesday compares Romanticism to Neo-Expressionism and has no issue giving great respect to both.

Fabulous piece, You pulled the threads that needed pulling in an analytically objective method, with a subjective sword to fall on here and there. I simply loved it.

You are correct. The artists were not aware, and why would any single artist who could achieve classicism at the tip of their pencil ever roll over for some government propaganda project, distancing themselves from everything that was important to them? What’s more? In studying the arc of any of these artists’ work it is not difficult to see why it evolved as it did. CIA or not. This is the truth of most counter-cultural art movements: We abandon what no longer serves.

Keep your Fires Burning. I swear, Alchemy is going on in that head of yours, fired by two sincere Hearts. ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Thanks Judson.

Your reasoned analysis of Mr Newberry's article is not only a joy to read but smacks the nail on the head of what I call representational art snobbery. There's much, as you well know, to the creativity that bursts out of us. To paraphrase Charles Bukowski, if it doesn't blast out of you, don't do it.
